Well "port" isn't the correct term. Is that what's confusing you, kits?

It's the American localization. "Port" would mean that it's on a different hardware platform than the original. Both versions are on the DS.

If that isn't it, then I have no idea what's confusing him. :P

That isn't it. "Port" comes from a word part that means "to carry" and so ports in video games mean:

1. Port to a different system
2. Port to another country
3.An improved version on the same system can also be considered a port, although it does leave the general definition.

The problem here is that EBA is so damn different from...Oeudablahblahblah in the style that it's fairly easy to confuse the 2 as being related, although watching gameplay videos should quickly put that confusion to rest.

I've never heard it used that way.

1. an opening in the side or other exterior part of a ship for admitting air and light or for taking on cargo. Compare porthole (def. 1).

2. Machinery. an aperture in the surface of a cylinder, for the passage of steam, air, water, etc.

3. a small aperture in an armored vehicle, aircraft, or fortification through which a gun can be fired or a camera directed.

4. Computers. a data connection in a computer to which a peripheral device or a transmission line from a remote terminal can be attached.

5. the raised center portion on a bit for horses.

6. Chiefly Scot.. a gate or portal, as to a town or fortress.

–verb (used with object)

7. Computers. to create a new version of (an application program) to run on a different hardware platform.

Two different forms of the word Port come from two different root words.

Portāre (to carry), and Porta (a gate or opening).

The "carrying" form is only used for a military term meaning "to carry a rifle or other weapon with both hands, in a slanting direction across the front of the body, with the barrel or like part near the left shoulder."

Ahh, don't you just LOVE our lengthty and pointless arguments?

...

Yeah, me niether. >_>

The American DS is a different hardware platform than the Japanese DS. The components inside are marginally different. Mainly to track sales in certain areas.

Um... it's not a port. It's not even close to a port. It's a sequel. The songs are entirely different, the characters are entirely different, EVERYTHING is entirely different except for the gameplay. It's like the difference between DDRMAX and DDRMAX2. It's a sequel. Trust me, I've played Ouendan, beaten it on 3 different difficulty levels, I own EBA, I've beaten it on 2 different difficulty levels.

It's only a sequel if the company that made it says its a sequel. For all you know, it could be a prequel!

Keep being contrary for the sake of being contrary, it's sure to make you loads of friends.

Anyway, the fact remains it is a different game, not a port OR a localization.

I'm with Verence on this one, Mericks. The company can't call it a sequel because they'd be referencing a game that never came out on these shores, and that would confuse too many people.

Tone down the contrariness. (Is that a word? Does it matter? You get what I mean.)
