They're gonna release DVDs of the unaltered original trilogy in september!!!! This is what I've been waiting for! Screw CG! Screw Jabba in New Hope! Old school, bitch!

Woo, I am SO glad they're doing this. I think I like George a little bit again.

AWESOME. I was almost going to buy the Laser Disc versions of the Original Trilogy because I wanted a digital version of the original theatrical cuts. I can't wait.

Lucas shouldn't have dicked around with the films in the first place... just because you have the power to go back and edit the past doesn't mean that you should.

I didn't mind some of the new stuff, but what bothered me most was the fact that he wouldn't allow the original versions to be available. He could do whatever he wants to them for all I care, as long as I can also view the original version. Now, if only he would release the Star Wars Holiday Special on DVD, then everything would be perfect.

Dude...that reminds me of an episode of South Park where all the famous directors were going back and changing their movies to make them more "peacy"

Apparently the changed version of The Lost Ark was so horrible that it killed everyone in very gruesome ways, strangely similar to the Lost Ark movie, hmm....

I respect your opinion, but to me the "New editions" are like the Venus di Milo with shiny plastic arms tacked on.

I hope they include some deleted scenes on the new DVDs. I know there's a scene at Tosche Station. I think Biggs and some of Luke's other friends are there.
