Controllers

Post by Rufus »

I hated the old school controllers found on many old systems. Were we, as a species, clueless that a rectangular controller does not fit the hand well?

hehe

The Japanese controller was a little more round, if I remember right. The American one was designed to look as little like a toy as possible, and thus took a more rectangular shape. That and it was the first controller beyond the basic joystick and button design. Quite a bit of innovation, everyone still uses every aspect of that controller. Its just more ergonomic now.

And to the people I know; No, I cannot let this go 8)

If by ownage you mean make your hand hurt after a couple hours of usage then yes.

The one thing about the rectangle is you didn't shove your hands around the controller until they started bleeding. My lil bro had an old Commodore we used to fudge with cause it didn't work and it had horrid controllers like a telephone looking one with a wheel on top and buttons on the bottom. The rectangle was actually a great innovation like Break said. My biggest problem is that the cords would always screw up right when they got to the controller, IE. open and the wires would fray

I found the nes controller to be quite appealing to my taste. The only contoller that truely did not feel right, or good was the XBOX controller, excluding the "s." Super Nintendo controller was also good. The playstation contoller,( i use the term playstation to refer to PSOne and PS2 because they are one in the same) was also a good controller. The rectangle as break said was innovative, and if I had to play all games with the rectangle i happily would.
