OMFG - 4 Blizzard employees Quit.

Post by Evilmagicpirate »

Slashdot Article
Slashdot wrote:a Reuters/Yahoo story discussing the departure of four key employees from Warcraft and Diablo developers Blizzard Entertainment. The article elaborates: "In a statement, Blizzard Entertainment said Blizzard North co-founders Erich Schaefer, Max Schaefer and David Brevik, along with a fourth employee, Bill Roper, 'resigned from the company to pursue other opportunities.'" With Bill Roper often the public face of Blizzard, and the Blizzard North co-founders being the original Diablo developers, this is a big deal for Blizzard owners Vivendi, as well as gamers everywhere..."

I second that.

But, as we all know, Blizzard is one of the most well known names in the business, and one of the most successful. If this is true, than what else in the world do these guys see is better that working for Blizzard?

It'll also be interesting to see if this exodus of employees effects the quality Starcraft: Ghost.

I'm more interested in why four of them jumped ship simultaneously. Like rats deserting the sinking ship, ya know? (Not to compare Blizzard employees to rats, but you get the picture.)

LMAO... Funny..

But apparently all of them were getting screwed out of a say in how the company will be run in the future, so the four of them left with plans to start a new company together. Its was semi-organized between them. DiabloII.net seems to have a pretty good coverage of the event.

What would be better is if the world was spared from the horrors of another fucking Diablo game.... who knows though maybe they'll get new people and it won't suck  .
