last five albums you bought
yesterday i took a trip out to shibuya(part of tokyo), to go to the worlds largest tower records. 8 floors for music of all kinds. i've never been so impressed. granted i still couldn't find everything on my list, though a lot of times only because they were out of stoke, but the artist had a name plate. so yeah, i can't wait to go back again, i only made it through half my listed and only up half the floors.
i picked up:
saint etienne-good humor
komeda-kokomemedada
piano magic-open cast heart
electrelane-axes
moving units-dangerous dreams
the curtains-flybys
man i'm glad a i get free money from the gub'ment. i need to go back!

i've been rapping for about seventeen years, okay. i don't write my stuff anymore, i just kick it from my head, you know what i'm saying, i can do that. no disrespect, but thats how i am.
new additions
manu chao-clandestino
seu jorge-the life aquatic studio sessions featuring seu jorge
chin up chin up-chin up chin up
four tet-rounds
man i love the 8 floor tower records.
i came to live in japan on a plane which i didn't sleep on. i only mention the plane because it leads into that i do for work, which is nothing. i'm on the dole. the government for some odd reason deemed me scholastic and is giving me a large sum of money monthly to hang out in their country. one can only suppose to "raise the cool factor." anyway back to your first question i'm here to study. and to answer your third question, yes it is as awesome as you always thought it must be. things are more expensive, but not to the point you really notice. unless you buy lots of dvds, which can cost upwards of 50$.
my current favortie japanese bands are supercar, jinen, cornelius, and shinna ringo(who is really a solo artist, or was till she formed tokyo jihen[an album i want to buy]).
have you heard of eastern youth? i have a friend thats really into them, i plan on seeing them live in shibuya with deerhoof. its going to be awesome. deerhoof in japan!

not every nihonphile's dream. i'm still single. haha.
to get paid to raise the cool factor you mainly have to be in college. then you fill out a bunch of stupid paper work, and you pay 35 dollars to have one building of you college mail a transcript to another building on campus. then you get lucky when the japanese ministry of education pulls your name out of their hat and figures thats worth 800 dollars a month.

The Mouse and the Mask isn't that bad...I love Perfect Hair Forever and Old School ft. Talib Kweli though.weezerjedi wrote:Geez, I only have the one he did with Mad Lib. The Danger Doom album kind of annoys me. All the Adult Swim still doesn't really fit in well.
By the way, there are two remix albums to the Madlib one .

Well I already went to college. I was never aware of this possibility when I was going, though.
Ah well, I still might go someday.
I have some college friends from Japan, so it wouldn't be too bad getting started there since I could probably crash at one of their places if things went pear-shaped.
