No Soul Cal 3 players here?
Hey man, just wondering if any of you jumped on this stellar game that continues the Soul series. While at high level play, a lot of bugs have been found, most are hard to perform in actual gameplay, so the game pretty much still stays the way it was meant to be played.
I'm still running tournies down here in NM, but I'll be out in Lawrence in the next few weeks if anyone wants to get games. Anyone looking for comp, my friends are still living in lawrence as well, and are always looking for somebody new to play.

I'll be damned if I ever get beat by a button masher!!!

Yeah, there were a lot of complaints, but the game still functions fine. The HUGE cast is a big plus. Load times are so short this time and the backgrounds are the best of the series. Anyone thinking it's another PS2 disaster need to think again.
If you're up for some games in a few weeks, let me know.

Wish I lived in lawrence....or that there was online play in SC3. C'mon Namco!Web_22 wrote:Yeah, there were a lot of complaints, but the game still functions fine. The HUGE cast is a big plus. understandable. but anyone who has ever touched a fighting game, but hasnt played SC2 or 3 does not know what he/she is missing.. awesome awesome game.. I'm glad I bought em both.Typheus wrote:I could never get into the Soul Calibur games. The only 3D fighting game I actually really liked was DOA. That was also probably only because of the online play for DOA:U. Fighting games are not my forte...
I'd love to play it, but no PS2. I have the other 2 systems and now a DS. I have a hard enough time keeping up with those games, which I'm failing nicely at.
Part of me wants to say fuck you Namco. They release II on all systems, PS2 sells the worst, and surprisingly enough, the Cube version is the most popular one. What do they do? Whore out to Sony anyway. It just makes me a little mad because if the Cube or XBox version came in last, they'd dump them in a heartbeat.

the only reason it did so well was because of Link. why even release it on the cube? I'm willing to bet a lot, that 90% of the soul calibur II sales on the Game Cube were from Zelda fanatics. Soul Calibur III- no Link.. so there is really no point in releasing it on the Cube.. X-box.. maybe, but Game Cube no.Wrath wrote:I'd love to play it, but no PS2. SC3 tourney? Where? I hear there's a new game store in town as well, how are they?
Getting back to the topic at hand, do any of you in Lawrence play avidly enough that you'd be interested in weekly or bi-weekly gatherings? I told my friends to start putting flyers up at KU at some popular hot spots just to see if a campus of 25,000 plus students has any serious SC3 fans. It must!!! Little tiny Haskell did when I was there.
If they don't do it, I'm going to print out flyers and put them up myself for them when I go there.
