This isn't about legalities, so if you're here because you thought the title was in question to the legal area of fansubs, you can turn back now. This is merely a rant.
Just the other day, on the IY4ever forums, we were ruthlessly attacked by malignant flamers and jackasses who didn't even know what they were talking about. Perhaps they did (you know who you are) and were just trying to piss us off...
You f'ing failed, dudes. I mean totally bombed; like Germany on London... only this time London has this ray shield that bounces the bombs back at you ala Final Fantasy's "Reflect" magic. Only this sucker's electrical, capable of producing one point twenty-- wait, wait. Wrong subject.
The fact of the matter is, to those of you who don't like our fansubs, who say we just put on a show and put anything we feel like on there as a translation. That say AF-F (Anime Forever Fansubs) is a whole lot better. Download both versions and check it out for yourself. But these are my opinions:
So... Let's see... Hmm... If we released three full days before AF-F and their translations are extremely and painfully similar, don't you think the pain should be at least a little bit theirs too, and not just ours, since they must have gotten it wrong too? Open those eyes wide, boys; smell that rotting fart stench. It smells GREAT!
"You guys suck! Your opening translation and japanese shit is all wrong! YOU SUCK ASS!"
What is this you say? The summary of all flames produced after AF-F released episode 1. To us. Three days after we released ours and right after they released theirs. Simple coincidence? Granted, total flaming possibility (pun intended).
"You guys do sucky ass translations! You were wrong on three lines in episode 2! AF-F is way fucking cooler because they get it right, fucktards!"
What's this one, you ask? Our summary of episode 2 after we released it. How did they even know it was a mistake? Question, how did they even know AF-F didn't make the same mistake? I'll let you ponder on that one. We released a v2 of the episode a day after with the corrections, and we noticed a long ass time before the flames started in. It was three lines and nothing more... Right... Okay...
So you think our translations suck, both for dialogue and for the songs? I'd like to see you try better. Or do you even KNOW Japanese? Hey, if you think your qualified, come on over to the IY4Ever channel and we'll set you up with a project and see how well you f'ing do on it. I'd pay to see that. I would -- $50 up front. You can't touch Cel-chan or jonny (our translators, for those of you who aren't apart of this world) with a world length pole.

Anyway, back on track. Our dialogue mistakes for episode two can be explained in two very simple, extremely understandable words: shit happens. We all make mistakes. I'd love to see how many you've made in your life and then start bashing you for them. You screw up, we screw up, you all screw up. Get over it; we fixed our mistake. How about yours?
And as for the opening song... Tommy february6, I'm sorry, is a god damn ho. She can't sing worth crap and we did the damn best we could considering the nearly unintelligable Engrish garbage she threw in there everywhere. Without official lyrics, which are coming out in about two weeks, THERE IS NO WAY TO KNOW WHAT SHE'S SAYING! Even AF-F could be wrong too!
OMFG!! THEY COULD BE WRONG, TOO! OMG! Hell just froze over for these flamers. Seriously.

Anyway...
My simple point is this: We aren't God. AF-F isn't God. No one is perfect. You don't like our fansubs. Cool. Go get it from AF-F. I encourage it. All fansub groups need groupies.
To the flamers:
We honestly do not give a flying leap if you watch ours or not, it's your choice totally and 100%. We do this FOR FUN and give it to others to SHARE because we WANT to share, not because we HAVE to. We do it for US, not just YOU. Personally, I would be totally satisfied doing it only for myself and no one else. Watching fansubs are a privilege WE give YOU. Just like driving: it's NOT a right you have, it's a PRIVILEGE the given to you.
Now. Shut the fuck up and watch some fansubs. I don't care who from, either because, genuinely, I think you're an ass that is not worthy of the privilege of veiwing my work.
