The NVGL that we are currently filming at is located in Olathe, KS, which is about a 35 minute drive from Lawrence, and it's just outside Kansas City. The new one opening up this fall will be located in Lawrence, so those of us who live here in Lawrence won't have to drive over a half-hour to play excellent halo and other multiplayer games.

I'd rather not call it out by name, because I'm sure that they're watching...but it rhymes with ritalin.
And it blows...the xboxes seem like an afterthought, their PCs suck and will need to be upgraded as soon as Halo PC or HL2 comes out, and their game selection sucks hardcore....they thought they could get away with doing it cheap, and it shows....even if NVGL wasn't coming to lawrence soon, these guys will be closed in 6 months.

Obviously you haven't been to NVGL then.
OK, here we go....everything that is wrong with that other place:
1. Couches....do you really want to sit right next to someone that you don't know? Doesn't that make you a bit uncomfortable?
2. Widescreen TVs....they cut off the picture in all of the games, even if you set the xbox to widescreen mode. In halo, the picture is distorted so much, that when I played in a tournament there, it took me over a half-hour to get adjusted to it. Widescreen was not the way to go when you're gaming. Should have gone 4:3 HDTVs that had the option of 1080i in a letterbox mode.
3. Game selection....they have a few Xbox games there. Sure, all you really need is halo, but NVGL carries EVERY single xbox game out that is not in recall (i.e. Kakuto Chojin *shudder*) and they have as many copies of the game that it supports multiplayer system linked (i.e. if wolfenstein supports 12 systems system linked, they have 12 copies).
There are about 6 other points that I would like to make, but I'm just going to let you dwell on those for a while.

Ok....so you're mainly a PC gamer. Well, then I'd say go to the other place, but if you're an Xbox gamer mostly, then I'd go to NVGL. The one in olathe is a prototype, the new one will be over 10x better. Trust me.

edit: the other place only has 4 tvs
NVGL currently has 8. Soon it will be upgraded to 12.
