Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow

Post by Demiveeman »

Well, the game has been out for a little while...and I got it when it did indeed first come out. What can I say about it? ALOT. This game is probably one of the absolute best in the series...and to my opinion...one of the best GBA games to DATE. The graphics are the greatest I've ever seen done on the GBA and with a GBA-SP it looks a 1000 times better.

Story

The game is based in year 2035, on the brink of an ancient prophecy about the return of Dracula. A High School student, Soma Cruz, is anxiously awaiting the arrival of the first solar eclispe of the 21st Century. Oddly enough...He passes out. He awakens later to be inside a huge castle and thus the game begins...

Gameplay
Okay...the gameplay is absolutely amazing. With tons of weapons to weild, the gameplay allows lots of variety. Not only are the weapons cool, but the new Soul Set system is the added touch that makes this game the best of the series. Not only can you now weild more weapons than ever before...but you can gain the abilities of the enemies you have beaten by absorbing their soul. Not only can get souls from enemies in the game, but with the GBA Link Cable...you can trade souls with friends. A nice touch to an already flawless game.

Graphics
Okay...Like I already stated...The Graphics are the best I've seen on a Gameboy Advance game to date. The detail of the levels and characters are at a level I thought almost unimaginable for a handheld system. The colors are fluent and never get dull. Slap this baby into an SP, and you really get a feel for the amazing graphics.

Sound
Okay...This game sounds GREAT...
The music provides the Erieness that a Castlevania game needs...
You can actually hear every attack in the game. Even when the enemy is not on the screen...you can hear the spear flying at you. And the sound effects ROCK. Sound is definately good...but...I have seen better. (Golden Sun sounds better)

Overall
Overall this could be the greatest GBA title of all time...It's all a matter of opinion. Its in the top 3 for me- below only Super Mario World at 2nd, and Advance Wars in 1st. Like I said, its all a matter of opinion. But, I assure you...This is the best Castlevania game yet to hit any platform.
