Hey guys, I know my 3 friends out there just might make it out this time, which would be pretty cool. But it's always open to everyone else who wants to travel and play.
Alright, here it is....
What: Albuquerque Assault II
When: November 11, 12, 13 (All Major Tournies 11/12)
Where:
Howard Johnson Conference Center
15 Hotel Cir Ne
Albuquerque, NM 87123-1202
Phone 505-296-4852
We have a special promotional rate with Ho Jo to get discounted double occupancy rooms for 39.99 per night. Ask for the Clarkstar Rate. There are a few other hotels right in hotel circle and I'll get their info up as well so you can have some options on where to stay. All are easily walking distance to the venue, but the Howard Johnson is actually connected to the venue. The rooms are a good size and can easily fit 6 people if you want, as long as you don't mind sharing a bed with your boy, or being the two to sleep on the floor.
Okay, down to business.

Tekken 5: PS2 version of course so no 5.1. This game hasn't lost any steam in light of the coming SC3, altho I understand there's the big Texas Trash Day on the same day featuring Tekken. Don't let that fool you, there'll be some quality Tekken here, with all the SC3 players, should have a good turnout and nice pot as well.
Entry: $20 per person
Naruto 3 Tournament: PS2 and Cube, 2 separate tournaments. Some people swear by the PS2 version, some by the Cube, and this game is getting pretty popular, why not have 2 tournaments? Not sure on Naruto rules and regs, but my boy wants to run one of these.
Entry: $10 per person, per tournament

That's the gist of it, there may be some DBZ, DOA:U, and more, not sure as we want to really do more of the standard fighters. Tilt usually brings their DDR machine in after 9 tho for some tournaments on that.
Now for the PR: What can I say that hasn't been said in the "planning" thread. Come one, come all. Fear not about that release date, I'm halfway on debunking the November 15th release date on 1up from some officials, so have no fear. IGN, Gamespot, Gamestop, and EBGames all have SC3 listed for a 10/25 release and I trust it baby!!!
This will be an awesome gathering of epic proportions for the Soul Calibur community. A kickoff tournament with a $1000 on the line for first place. The money may be the lure, but we all know it's the gathering that counts. People from all over are planning on attending.
We already have Mick, RTD, and SowNemesis on board, 3 of the top 8 from Evo last year.
It'll grow from there with Cali, AZ, CO, TX, IL, NY, FL, and a whole lot more who have already expressed serious interest in getting out here. Definitely a Soul Calibur tournament not to be missed.
It'll be a great learning experience and players from all over bring in and show off their main characters. Some that you might share, some that you might just mess around with, or some that you might've passed off as trash until you see these guys in action. Top players from all over to learn from and play against.
The venue, The Event
For those who didn't capture what was said in the planning thread, allow me to elaborate on how this all goes down. We have the Howard Johnson Conference Center, a sizeable venue attached to the Howard Johnson hotel. If you get a room at the hotel, all you'll have to do is walk down the hall to the conference center.
We will open Friday night for casuals, money matches, whatever. We will be open until around 3AM, so as people start to arrive, you just go down where plenty of TV's and systems will already be set up. Call next, run into an old friend, sandbag, whatever. That's friday night.
Saturday is the day you want to be prepared for. Tourney day, all day, all night. Casauls all day, all night. Money matches, all day, all night. Need some grub, head out the door to the attached JB's restaurant where they'll have anything Denny's might have. King Low Tier from CO won't let me forget to tell you that they have a smokin Breakfast Buffet If that's not your cup of tea, catch a ride with me or one of the other locals down the road for some other eating options.
Sunday is the day we wrap up, with more games for whoever's still around. Not everyone leaves bright and early, so the venue is open for you to play some people you didn't get a chance to play the past two days, or just show some new stuff, or learn some new stuff from other players, whatever.
Need a ride? We've got plenty of people who can take you to and from the airport, bus station, train station, clubs, food stops, hardware store, wherever man. Don't even sweat it!!!
Need a free place to stay? I'm sure Lobo, Ivylicious, Enigma, and even myself, can offer some people a free place to lay their head down and get some games. Otherwise, splitting the cost of the room 4-6 ways for two nights won't be THAT much.
Getting back to the confusion of the release date on 1up. That's 1up's posting, NOT EGM's posting, who recently did a feature on SC3. EGM's own Shoe and Kimi think it's a mistake as well.
Start making your plans now so you're not kicking yourself in the head saying "man, I wish I knew about this" or "I wish I would've went" cuz this'll be the event you don't want to miss. Results won't even matter at this one, everyone will be 2 and a half weeks into the game with so much more to discover. But it'll be one hell of a ride seeing who advances, and who gets upset on the way to a cool grand.
I'm hoping to have at least a couple people doing some filming, interviewing, all that stuff. I'll get someone to post vids online as well. We have plenty of contests and free giveaways as well.
The Red Bull Girls will be there to give out plenty of free Red Bull all day long so you can have those fast twitch actions you need to succeed baby!!!
Money matches are also a big part of what tournaments are about, so set them up now if you want. I know I want to get in a few with some of you top dogs to see how my scrubby a$$ hangs in w/y'all.
I know some of you posted before, but if you're still in, post up, and set up some money matches. Peace!!!

Well guys, let me just tell you that we have people coming from Atlanta, we have Mississippi on board. There's a guy coming from Michigan, more from PA. As long as everything works out, we'll have 3 coming right from Lawrence. We even have people traveling all the way from freakin Toronto Canada. Talk about some mileage man.
Some day y'all can come out. Naruto is going to rock!!!
