Eh starting one sounded like a good idea and if you don't know whats happening up until now just say it and I can paste a summary of the entire show up to this point that I put on another forumn (took a longass time).

*Minor Spoilers*

Where to begin? Lets start with the Cursed Fruit. It gives you some ungodly powers like stretching yourself like Elasta Girl or that Fantastic 4 dude or not being able to die from a sword. BUT it takes away your ability to swim...which puzzles me, because the only hint I could pick up of why it does this is when Buggy fell into the water on his little flashback and he was thinking to himself "The sea has gone against me, that fruit really was cursed!"

So uh if there was a fruit that gave you some type of powers but took away something that mattered alot would you eat it? I guess the ability to swim is very important in the One Piece world because it seems that most of it is just a bunch of islands and a few small continents.

Zephie im gonna leave the answer to this up to you but Zolo's voice sounds oddly familiar...I know I may sound like a Sonic fanboy when saying this but his voice sounds oddly familiar to Knuckles off of Sonic X. I also remember someone saying that Zolo's original name was Zorro but 4Kids changed it to Zolo? I can think of a couple reasons including a lawsuit but...

Nami reminds me of a spoiled brat :/ And shes good at beign a theif and shes good with a pole but thats about it for me...o uh and she hates pirates...along with Zolo...

Ussong...this guy scares the hell outa me because you have to be pretty insane to make up a story where your ship made landfall on a giant goldfish crap (ewwww). Hes good with a slingshot though...that dent he made in Zolo's back wasn't exactly small. And isn't Zolo always fighting at like less than half of his fighting capability? First he was stabbed by Buggy when he had to fight that French dude, and now thanks to Ussong he has to fight two gay looking "kitty elites" with one sowrd and a bad back.

The story seems to progress with each show because I havn't noticed any "fillers" yet...of course I may only have a vague idea of what they are (episodes just to take up space and dont progress the story at all in my opinion).

Lets hope they get that new ship soon because that would be interesting.

Dude you can't help but hate that godamn butler I swear he is a disgusting bastard. Living with someone for 3 years and he would kill her without a second thought....god he must have been doing alot of crack to make a crew like a bunch of cats.

Ack lets hope that Michael Jackson doesn't catch up with that young girl in the middle of the woods with 3 litlle kids...(theres a joke hidden in there if you didn't notice).

Err damn does Zolo sound like Knuckles off of Sonic X to anyone else?

Haha. I watch episodes of One Piece every now and then. I didn't catch the latest episode, but would have to agree that the guy's an ass, and the moon-walker is indeed a wannabe. I haven't watched it from the beginning so I'm still a little lost, but all in all I think the story is going well. The humor surpasses the battle scenes I've seen by far, even though the American humor really stinks.

As for Zolo's voice, I have no idea. I don't watch Sonic and I'd prefer not to... A fan of the SEGA games, I was told to stay far away from it or loose sight of the originality the games possessed.

And as for his name, I would have been pronounced something like "Zourou" -- the Japanese don't have a pronunciation for the letter L and it's substituted with R. "Zoro" would have been the English pronunciation.

So they show a repeat of the animes on Thursday? Or is this just for adult swim? I could edit my summary of the show and make it to up to this point if you want...it would only take like 2 minutes.

I'm not sure exactly how much they repeat on Thursdays, but I'm almost positive that it's the repeat of Saturday's shows. I'll wait until then.

lol I dunno why but I friggin love this show! I mean where else are you gonna have a guy who can cut ships in half with his sword? Also have some expert karate fighter(err well an expert with his feet anyways...) that can withstand a hit from an iron ball?

Lol. Yeah, it's a rather cool show. I've gotten past my distaste of the backgrounds and started to enjoy the show. It's just starting to get good, too. I love it!

lol Luffy took some ass and kicked some names!...wait reverse that...

Anyways. Well it doesnt seem to be long before we get to see what the Grand Line is. I cant wait to see Zolo fight Hawkeye. I just wish it looked like an actual fight instead of the way they did it. Just showing Zolo swinging like mad and missing. Not showing any closeups of the action :/

I might buy the DVDs if they have an accurate sub for the Japanese track and are uncensored, 'cause I love the manga.

I cant say I wasn't expecting there to be Mermen in the show either. But eh it could be interesting. I wanna see them kill that big "Bull Fish".

Not even gonna wait until the second episode today to write this. This show is getting pretty meh around this merman arc here. X.X

That was NOT a water gun...good god. Who translated and editted this show again? Was it Funimation? Whoever it was...SUCKED!

Apparently they were telling about hte life story of Nami (one of the main characters) and about how her mother got taken away. Apparently long before the chaos erupted that led to their island being run by Merman, Nami's mother joined the Navi and fought against pirates and bandits and whatnot.

One scene showed Nami's mother on top of some rumble with a BIG water gun. Picture the size of a SAW off of Ghost Recon or twice the size of a G3A3 off of Rainbow Six. (A saw is a hip shot machine gun and a G3A3 is a semi automatic weapon.) Well anyways im guessing that in the official Japanese version, Nami's mother was holding a machine gun of some sort or some other type of big gun. I t hink they changed it to make it more...."kid friendly" like off of that comic section you posted about how Funimation does its editting...I never thought it would be so literal XD

I noticed that. He always has smoke streaming from his mouth. Did they even try to explain it? I know he smoked in the original version. What did they say in the 4kids version, that he has heartburn?
