So what did you get on SC3?

Post by Web_22 »

Man, there was a TON of coverage from the floor via champion SC2 players, so we did get some good coverage. IGN got some good stuff as well, but what did YOU GUYS get for me?

One of our fellow players from Colorado won the tournament. So did any of you get in this madness?

So...... Did you guys get anything? Or did my request go unnoticed? Or you guys were ever so busy with the million things going on at E3 that SC3 didn't manage to fit in the schedule.

At least let me know either way. Hope to see y'all this summer for some games as I'd like to come out and visit for a little while. Peace!!!

If you're in Lawrence, I could also give you a Soul Calibur III keychain.

Dude, that totally rocks man, nice pic. As for the keychain, it looks like I'll be passing thru towards the end of next month. I'll post up and let you know when so we can hook up for that keychain, cuz that would be dope man. Seriously, that'll be cool to have a keychain like that. Especially a SC addict like myself.

Yeah, I played the E3 Demo and it was awesome. From what I played, it was basically played like Soul Calibur II. But that's a good thing. Yeah, if you're in town, PM or IM me.

Well, there is a deeper side to the game as well. There are 3 different throw breaks now. If you break early, you're at an advantage. If you break a little later, you and your opponent are even, and if you break at the latest time, you're at a disadvantage. So it will reward people who anticipate throws a bit better.

The Guard Impact system has reverted back to the Soul Cali 1 version, so you'll have to push down/back and down/forward to catch those lows, but at least you get to pick your parry's and repels again. In SC2, you could only repel hi's, and parry lows, now it's open game.

Of course, extra moves for everyone and some new characters.

2G isn't there anymore so Guard Impacting will have it's old effect like Sc1. In SC2, the better players found a way to take away the advantage of a guard impact by pressing down and guard at the exact time an attack came in (only worked on mids and hi's) and it would guard it. But that's out now.

My favorite character Cass, seems to have had a few moves changed as well. There are different inputs for some moves, and I heard that one of my favorites down/forward A+B is gone :(

There are also Soul Charge Level 1 unblockables now, and a new system for punishing turtlers (people who like to sit back and let you come to them), and a new aspect to the ground game, and the while rising attributes. You can no longer just do a while rising attack off the ground, nor can you just instantly GI off the ground either.

So it is a newer engine so to speak, that will take some adjusting as well.

Soooo jealous of you Weezerjedi, wish I could've just played it. I remember the first time I got my SC2 import 5 months ahead of the US release and to see it for the first time on my TV. It meant a lot more cuz I didn't even have access to an arcade version, which had been out for almost 3/4 of a year.

I'll let you know when I'm coming out, maybe you can give me your number later so I can call you, and maybe we can get in some games of SC2 as well. Later man.

Well, as much as I love Soul Calibur 2, I suck at it. You will totally beat me.

I guess they have made alot of changes and improvements.
