I've personally whatched the entire series, it's one of my favorite, but I wasn't too pleased with the English dub so I haven't been watching it intently. What was the last thing that happened and I'll try to explain, to the best of my knowledge, what happened in the 2/12/05 episode.

Bah. I wrote up a whole episode guide for episode 13, which was "Fullmetal Versus Flame". I was informed, right away, that February 12th's episode was episode 14. Sorry. Episode guide assisted by SquaDus who had the episode on hand and was able to spot-check mistakes and add stuff I forgot:
Episode 14: The Right Hand of Destruction
At Lior, the battle between the military and the townspeople continues. The people are now questioning the power of their Head Priest as they are ruthlessly slaughtered by the military.
Looking down from the tower, Lust, Gluttony, and Envy enjoy foolish destruction of humans. The group talks about Ed, saying that he's the closest one to their ultimate goal. They've received information on Scar's movement and decide that they have "protect" Ed from him at all costs.
Scar announced his arrival in East City by killing a State Alchemist on the outskirts of the city. Meanwhile, Ed and Al continue their search for Dr. Marco; travelling along the countryside, they hear of all the good things he's done, as well as the flashes of bright red light that he creates when healing the sickly.
On their way to Marco's house, they have to duck into a haystack to avoid a State Alchemist who was following them. Upon their arrival at Marco's home, they shot at. However, Al, being indestructable by bullet, manages to take hold of the situation and they enter.
Ed and Al are surprised to hear that the Philosopher's Stone was used to squash the rebellion in Ishbal. The military killed the Ishbal residents regardless of who they were. Because he was apart of something so horribly gruesome, Marco became a doctor to try and repent up for the pain that he had inflicted during the insurgency.
With all the ruckus he caused in finding Marco's research, Basque Gran enters with some soldiers to confiscate the lot of that research. While he's there, Gran says that the red water was created as a research project and that its limits are still unknown.
Ed follows the car, leaving with the research and samples. Suddenly, the car carrying Macro and Gran skids to a halt: It's Scar. He destroys the car and kills easily kills Gran. Setting his sights on Marco, Ed manages to pull Marco away and they escape.
While on the run, Ed, Al, and Marco are tracked down by Scar and cornered inside a tunnel. Ed and Al fight for their lives to protect both themselves and Marco. During the fight, they're saved by that suspicious State Alchemist that was following him: Alex Louis Armstrong, the "Strong Arm Alchemist".
Heading towards the exit of the tunnel, Ed and Al tell Marco to escape to a place where he can't be tracked down by either the military or Scar.

That was the correct episode. Hope it helped... I was confused by Jack's statement about "the guy that blew peoples brains up from the inside". Seeing as how I've seen the entire series, and know what he's actually doing... I got confused. Sorry. Hehe.

You're in for one hell of a series. I almost envy you guys watching the series for the first time... I wish I could go back in time and watch it over again. That was a great series with some seriously raunchy-like plot twists and gut-wrenching action. You're in for some cool shit later, so keep watching it. It only gets better and better. No joke.
Only... with Toonami/Adult Swim as it is, I doubt seriously you'll see some of that gut-wrenching action. They'll censor a lot of that crap in the later episodes at about 30+. Especially that last 10 or so; bloody action packed...
But, regardless, please enjoy it and buy the DVDs when they come out! This is a series I loved to the bone and would like to support. You should too.

You saw the Chimera return to it's basics? Amazing Adult Swim did that, but, though, it still doesn't compare with some of the stuff that comes along. I mean, you get to see brutal murderings by the hundreds, it becomes increasingly darker and depressing as the anime goes on. Sure it started out light hearted, but believe me when I say it's going to get MUCH worse, much darker, much more phillisophical. And strange.
Oh, and do me a favor. Post on here your opinion of episode 25 when you get there. The most memorable episode and I wanna know if someone else shares my same feelings on it...

| The religious guy that find a loophole in alchemy by not completing the third step which is reacreation almost killed Ed but that Dr guy saved him by throwing hte Philosipher's stone at the sorry bastard. It like went into his hand or something like that. Then he got away ¬.¬
I thought it was funny as hell when that FIre Alchemist almost got himself killed by trying to start a fire in the rain. So uh another one comes on tomorrow.
Yeah I almost shed a tear when that guy decomposed (I think thats what it would be called) the Chimera....

Trust me when I say that you'll know why episode 25 is the most memorable in the series (or one of them) when you see it. You'll know what I'm talking about. And "decomposing" is the wrong word, it would be more like "reverse engineering", so to speak.
All your questions should be answered in the coming episodes at around 28+. That's when all the mysteries start to become solved and more and more is revealed about the truth behind the Red Stone, Scar, the Ishbal Incident, and various other things that I have forbidden myself to mention... it's fucking insane, I'll tell you that much, and the twists literally last until the final episode, so everything'll keep you on your toes and guessing.

I thought I would mention the censorship. It is going to be heavily censored. In the Episode where Scar killed Gran. All you see is Scar putting his hand on Gran and then Gran falling down. They cut a good 5 or 6 seconds of Scar actually blowing his brains out. Since they cut this...there is a lot that will be cut later.
If you are an anime fan, do not watch a series for the first time on Adult Swim or Toonami, or American television at all. I saw the first Ep of FMA on AS and it immediately sparked my interest. I then went and downloaded the fansubs to watch the whole series in its original form.
Plus the only decent dub i've ever seen was Cowboy Bebop.
All others are awful. The worst so far have been...Rurouni Kenshin, and Gundam SEED (both on TOONAMI). Of which the worst dubbed character has to be Cagalli Yula Athha from Gundam...just awful.
