Halo Tournament in Wichita this coming weekend!

Post by Jack Burton »

Hey all you Halo players within (reasonable) driving distance of Wichita, KS!

This coming Saturday (May 24th), there will be the first Wichita Invitational Halo Tournament. Since I am one of the few helping to put this whole thing together, let me be one of the few that are inviting you all on BreakmanX's forums to show up and kick ass!

There was an article in Sunday's Wichita Eagle that hyped up the tournament, and at this point we are quite confident that over 100 players from the Wichita area alone will be showing up to compete, so the competition will be quite varied from the n00bs to the 133t.

If money's a problem, you're wrong. Dig through your couch cushions and I'm sure you can come up with the money for this tournament. It's only $5 to enter, and the top 4 places (at this time) will take home all of the entrance fees. The guys running this thing (including me) are eating the cost of this tourney, in the hopes that we get a whole bunch of people to play and in the hopes of making this tournament an annual (or monthly) event.

If you need any information/directions/advice on how to kill with three shots, you can either PM me, or you can IM me. My AIM name is PPCOO7. Hope to see at least a few other Breakmanx.com peeps over there. It should be a great day for killing.

Oh yeah...to recap:

When: Saturday, May 24th, 2003
Where: KPTS broadcasting studios (PM or IM for directions)
What: Halo tournament (PM or IM for specifics/gametypes)
Who: Over 100 people with varied skill at Halo
Why: To take home the prize money and claim to be the best in the city of Wichita.
How much: $5. That's it. Cheap. Dirt cheap. Macintosh cheap.

-Jack

edit: I got 2nd! THX NIN took first place.

This is out of 62 people, mind you. all of whom were very good.

I take it a lot of these Halo players probably also play on gamespy and xbox connect. If you can, ask them if they know about a Team Mcdiddles or some sort of team like that. I'll get the name of that team for sure, but from what the guy tells me, they're pretty good as well, and I think they do online and offline Halo a lot.

Yeah, they're always on XBC. Some of the better guys are the [aD] clan, the THX guys, and Heavy D (he's my not-so-little brother). They're always a good bunch of guys to hang around and play halo with, and they're all good sports.

Give 'em a chance if you see them online, i'll let them know that the mcdiddles are out there. :) You might also stop by NVGL and ask for either sweeter, cryo, chamber, dragon, or special k.

How does Team Mcdiddles stack up to you guys? McDiddles himself was pretty good, but didn't blow me out of the water. I don't consider myself a high caliber Halo player, but I'm definitely no slouch either.

I've never played him myself (but the name sounds familiar). The only two teams that have beaten me (us) are the Hp assholes, and the Alliance.

Okay, they're part of McTeam. The guys from their team that play online are McNutt and McBride if that helps any. He was mentiong the OGRES who are the new champs from the Halo50K tournament. Anyway, that's them. McDiddles is just one of their grunts from what he says, but that's who he plays with from Las Cruces.

Halo pros seeking a real challenge...

Post by guardianlegend »

Hello everyone on BreakmanX network. Call me Guardian. For those of you who exist in Lawerence, I look forward to meeting you. I will be living with Q, or Rurouni, or what ever the hell you call him starting in January.

I told Q about an article I saw in the K-State Collegian about people who play Halo in tournaments and win big money. He said that I should post all of the information I can on the BreakmanX Network, and that's why I'm here now. It's my mission to get information on these people: names, gametags; to any of you feel like getting killed repeatedly. I don't know them personally, but in due time, I'll find out if these folks actually play online.

Until next time...

Hey guardianlegend...thx for the info, but you're about 1 year late...I know those guys, yes they play online, but I really don't want to without my proper team from NVGL. Darkman knows who I am, and I know who he is...I've beaten him before, and he got really mad. If you would like to play halo against him, you can try out xbconnect from Xbconnect.com. He uses the online screenname -Hp- Darkman. Some of his other crew are -Hp- Alex, and the like...Shizz and Zyos are also part of his team. Thx for the info though...
