Halo 2 Soundtrack

The Halo 2 soundtrack is coming out the same day as Halo 2, November 9, and it looks like it's going to have a very nice variety of style. Including tracks from Incubus, Hoobastank, and more. This should be a pretty tight game soundtrack, and i might have to pick it up while im out that day. There's some more information on the link below.

Or you can just go to NileRodgers.com and listen to a bunch of preview clips from about half of the songs on the soundtrack.

Awesome. I like the 2 movements of the Odyssey by Incubus, that will be nice in the game. Thanks Jack, for the tip.

I'm wondering how they will incorporate the Breaking Benjamins song.. The lyrics are fitting, but it just seems like it will be destracting while playing. I'd rather have some Marty O'Donnell originals than a pop-rock MTV style song to jam to. I'm prolly in the minority here, but just thought I'd throw in my few cents on that. (Again, not saying it's a bad song. Just saying I think it might irritate slightly while playing.)

The Odyssey by incubus was magnificent, and I think it will fit the game excellently.

Besides that, I loved, absolutely loved, the Halo theme Mjolnir Mix.

None of the Incubus/Hoobastank/etc. songs will be in the game. They're just Halo-inspired songs by bands that are evidently fans. That was my understanding anyway...

I hope to god I'm right. If they got any Hoobastank on my Halo someone at Bungie is getting a depleated uranium shell in the butt.

Yeah, but I wouldn't mind the Odyssey in there. It is awesome, and I could save the world to that easy.

I don't think the Incubus tune would be good in the game. You are blowing shit up, not tripping on acid and smoking with an Elite. I hope it sticks with the original feel and score that Halo's great chemistry is based on. Hopefully it isnt THAT commercialized.

Break, your fears should be set completely at ease. Marty has come out on the HBO forums and said that the only music you're going to hear in the actual game are his and Michael Salvatori's. You will hear an instrumental version of The Odyessy by Incubus, but besides that all of the music by "popular" bands on there are simply "inspired-by" tracks that they're putting on the soundtrack just so people will pick it up without knowing better. Those songs won't actually be in the game, thank god. That being said, I think Marty's stuff rocks as usual, and I can't wait for the game and soundtrack.

You just made my heart leap Jack. The soundtrack, from what I heard is sounding steller. I'm actually getting really pumped for this game. (Jack Burton's smile just grew 10 sizes)

That aside, I thought the incubus song would fit, I could definately play to that. But, if people like loose and Verence are going to take issue with it then I'm glad it's not in it. It'd be a shame for anyone to have the game slightly soured do to commercialization.

Adding those songs to the sold sountrack, though, is a good idea. Damn, they did the exact right thing...

I agree. I would have loved to hear the Incubus tracks in the game, but that's cool, at least we have the killer Mjolnir Mix to play with. My guess is that die hard Halo 2 fans, minor Halo 2 fans, and ANYONE with ANY good taste in music will not be without the soundtrack to the awaited sequel.

Actually, it turns out both Breaking Benjamins and Incubus songs are in the game, but no lyrics are present, so its not too intrusive.
