For anyone who hasn't already seen it at slashdot, there's a link trail to a short article about a development in the murder case the break crew mentioned during the Aug. 1 show.
Basically, the copy of Manhunt in question was found in "the victim's home, not the killer's". The fact that the article is on a computing and video gaming website is suspect, but it's an interesting twist if the info is reliable.
There's also a quote from the police involved with the case saying that they haven't connected the murder to the video game, and that the media won't let the supposed connection die. Anyone surprised?

Manhunt murder update
Not in the least. It's the same media that won't let Manhunt go, that also published the headline "Murder By Playstation".
Yet another example of why People = Stupid.
Yet another example of why People = Stupid.
I read a whole interview on ign.com today about that shit. We, as a collective generation, have grown up our entire lives knowing the difference between game and reality. If someone is too dense to understand the difference between playing a game and crushing your friends head with an actual claw hammer, then there are much bigger problems at large than code running across a screen. Nowdays people have to blame thier failures on someone else and not shoulder the blame themselves. That is some USDA prime bullshit.
