I'm not familiar with MP4box, but I have used iTunes to play raw AAC files. I'm assuming it is just the wrapper or something that is making iTunes think it is something funky. I'd just try exporting the audio as an uncompressed file using QuickTime if you want to play it in iTunes. And, yes ...

Sorry, I'm just a little confused as iPods and iTunes support AAC very well. When you buy a song from iTunes it is an AAC file. What did you use to demux the file?
