Sure, it’s no big news that Harmonix releases a pack of DLC for Rock Band every week (although perhaps it’s more noteworthy in light of recent buyouts and layoffs). But this one holds a special place in my heart. The February Heartache Duets Pack contains the following songs, which can of course be purchased separately:

  • Animotion – “Obsession”
  • B.o.B. (featuring Hayley Williams) – “Airplanes”
  • Bonnie Tyler – “Total Eclipse of the Heart”
  • The Human League – “Don’t You Want Me”
  • Lady Antebellum – “Need You Now”
  • Meat Loaf – “Paradise by the Dashboard Light”
  • Stevie Nicks – “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around”

These tracks are available for purchase as individual tracks for $1.99 on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and $2.00 on Wii, and as February Heartache Duets’ Pack on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii for $10.99. A Pro Guitar/Pro Bass upgrade is available for Stevie Nicks – “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around” for $0.99. All songs have Harmony and Pro Keys support.

The big one for me out of this pack is Meat Loaf’s epic tale of high school hormonal woes, “Paradise by the Dashboard Light.” Bonnie Tyler’s “Total Eclipse of the Heart” is also high on my want list, but I never thought I’d see the day when we’d get one of the greatest progressive rock ballads of all time on my Rock Band. If you’ve never heard this song before, hit the jump and treat yourself to a viewing of a playthrough of all instruments on Expert here and marvel at the difficulty and intricacy that is Meat Loaf.
