And I’m not referring to the myriad tornadoes that are, even as I speak, plaguing the homes of Q, Richie, and myself. Break, count yourself lucky (until the next earthquake, that is).

In the meantime, I thought I’d fill the gap between shows for you guys with some gaming goodness. Eventually, we plan to get this Naughty Bits thing running once a week for you guys, but technical problems have been abound as we try to get the new equipment set up, and so far, we’ve only managed to record one without everything blowing up, across three different efforts.

Personally, I think its all just a nefarious plot on Q’s part to get us all to his house for video games and ice-cream cake… the devil himself, that boy.

Oh, we’ve also been delayed by the little thing that is Q GOT MARRIED!! Yes, I’ll be proud to be the first on this page to salute Q in his entry to the state of wedded bliss. It was a small ceremony, even the illustrious Maul was not there, but I’m sure it was wonderful. That evening, I looked upon the night sky, and saw fireworks soaring into the air, bursting in a cavalcade of kaleidoscopic colors. “Well, looks like Q’s getting laid again,” I said to myself.

That aside, a few interesting things this week. Just about finished with the Bionic Commando revamp on the PS3. If you guys are fans of the 8-bit game, then I’ve no idea why you wouldn’t pick this title up. They did an amazing job recreating it; visuals and music are fantastic, and the challenge mode will both captivate and enfuriate you. Also out on the network is the full version of The Last Guy, which I have liked very much as a quirky little action puzzler. It’s a fun ‘save people from zombies’ game that has a bizarre sense of humor. Sadly, if you don’t have a TV in the vicinity of 42’’, it might be tough to play, considering even on my TV of that size, the dude you control is virtually microscopic. The zoom function is not enough!

PS3 owners looking for a little entertainment (and what PS3 owner isn’t?) are advised to look into them for a meager $10 each…unless you’re saving your last Hamilton for the September 22nd release of Mega Man 9, that is. *drool*

One final bit I’d like to mention to you guys is a little charity work that’s coming up, set up by the Sarcastic Gamer website. I’m unfamiliar with them, personally, but it looks like they’ve gathered quite a ring of game sites to sponsor the event, so everything looks kosher.

What I’m referring to is the “Extra Life” Game-a-thon that’s going into action on October 18th. The idea is that you go around your neighborhood getting people to pledge $1 per hour of gaming that you do that day, similar to a bowl- or walk-a-thon kind of idea. Then, you game as long as you can on the 18th. Of course, you can’t exceed $24 per person in donations, but that tends to get people a little more incentive to donate too. Just spread the word around your area. The money from the event goes to fighting Pediatric Cancer, which is a very worthy cause. And hell, it’s something you’re going want to do anyway!

If anyone is interested in both playing games and helping out sick kids (why wouldn’t you be?) you can find out details on their website http://extralife.sarcasticgamer.com/. Take a moment, you might find it worth your time. So often we forget that, in the real world, you can’t just eat a mushroom to restore yourself back to good health (in fact, usually the opposite is true). No, that shit takes money, money most people don’t have.
Idea: 4-player multi-player game-a-thon for the event. Think about it.

That’s all I got to chime in on for now, BMXers. Enjoy your weekends, and check in later next week for some more Naughty Bits…and Q or Richie might have a little something for you to read during the week as well.

Yeah, DIGGIT!
