Besides the Show, broadcast to you live from Best Western, we didn’t have a God damn thing to do today.  So, we decided to act like tourists and hit up glamorous Venice Beach, literally a short walk away.

God, I love our location.  Last hotel we had in L.A., we could look out the window and see billboards in Spanish.  Around here, skinny, pale white guys don’t stand out so badly, though my t-shirt-and-jeans approach to fashion doesn’t really measure up.

We start today in our room, all showered and shaved…

Then, after a bit of breakfast, and pulling our rental out of the shithole the hotel valet parked it in, we’re off.

It’s a great place to be:  The ocean breeze, music, street performers,
bikini’s, but it all gets old after a bit.  For example, every t-shirt
shop on the beach is owned by the same company, and they all carry the
same shirts and hoodies.  It’s like walking by a McDonalds every 30
seconds.  Some nice apartments beachside, but I’m sure that no amount
of organ donation could pay for one.

Our Vice President…

And this loser…

And that’s ‘the pier’, our final destination.  Off we go…

Those of you who’ve seen Falling Down probably won’t remember a theme
park being on the pier, but it’s there now.  Not a bad roller coaster,
either; Mark plans to take a ride later tonight.

Also an arcade out on the pier, and look!  One of the special edition Outrun 2 machines!  I couldn’t stay away.

Image

Got a problem, bitch?

Also there, a new Sega shooter, Ghost Squad.  The gun looks cool, for damn sure, but it’s a l4m3 g4m3 otherwise.

Image

And what’s that in the background?  Yep, a Mario Kart GP machine!

Leaving the pier, look out onto Ocean blvd.  Our hotel is off camera, right of the blue building on the left.

Down the walkway and back onto solid ground.  Time to get ready for the Show, but not before we grab a corndog and lemonade.

Later, bitches.
