That’s the smell of E3. A time of rampant rumors and wild speculation. Everyone gets all excited and then either three things happen. We get let down, our expectations are met, or things happen that we never could have imagined beyond out wildest dreams. I love it because more annoucements get made than any other time of the year. Anyways, here are some interesting rumors…
Final Fantasy III (the Japanese version) has never been released before in the US. Square did not include it in any of the PS1 collections. It will finally be released here on the DS and is getting a major overhaul. Instead of the enhanced versions of Final Fantasy I, II, IV, V, & VI, the game will be in 3D similar to Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles. The reason I mention all of this is because there’s a rumor going around saying that Final Fantasy III for the DS might be Wi-Fi compatible. Woot. I can’t read Japanese but apparently this scan says something like that.
Ubisoft has confirmed that Red Steel is a Revolution exclusive title and it will also be a lauch title. Ubisoft also mentioned that they will be showing off how Red Steel works at E3. Hopefully that means it will be playable. Woot. Also, the lastest rumor going around is that Red Steel might not feature blood. Non woot.
I’ve read that PS3 will be playable at E3, but Sony won’t have a bunch of demo units for everyone to play. There will most likely be a huge line, but I’ve also read that press will have priority over everyone else. Woot.
E3 is pretty much the biggest event in video games. I thought last years E3 was big, but come mid-May, there are going to be huge things going on. I can’t wait.
