After yesterday’s show, announcing all the GDC news, I really started to get more and more excited for E3. GDC is an appetizer of sorts for gamers. Releasing developer centered news with a few hints of things to come, and maybe a game announcement or two, we now just have to wait with our mouths salivating. The chips and dip have been taken from us, rather abruptly mind you, and now we must wait for our meal. We still have more than a month to wait too, so I hope you brought a mint or maybe a tic-tac.
My older consoles (Dreamcast and before) have been dormant for
for about a year or so due to me moving my electronics around. Last
week I hooked up every system I have, and it is really nice to have
them back. Plugging in the old Dreamcast and playing some Sonic
Adventure 1 brought back memories of me opening up that console back on
9.9.99. It also made me look forward. Opening new consoles is one of
the most exciting thing a gamer can do.. in fact I might argue the most
exciting thing. The 360’s newness has basically worn away, and now I
have to bide my time with the arcade while I wait for new games to come
out. My mind has wondered several times as I think about removing my
new Ipod-like Revolution.. waiting to feel exactly what this thing
will play like. Around the same time I’ll be opening the Ps3, and I’ll
have to decide if I’m going to grill hamburgers on it or play the Final
Fantasy VII remake. In all honesty, though I may joke about the shape,
I am about to bust at the seems waiting to play it. And thank God the
waiter will be bringing me a nice helping of both of these at E3. At
least till I get one of my own.
My entire place has been
reorganized and cleanified to prepare for the next episode of Gamers.
Gamer 3 should be as big, if not much bigger, of a leap as the one from
1 to 2. I am really excited to get working on it. And I know my
partners in crime are excited as well.
I’d also like to say that the new staffers are working out wonderfull and their work will soon be transparent to you all.
