Most of my friends here decided to go to a dance club last Friday
evening, but Paul and I are not really the dance club type. Especially
since it seemed that a majority of the clubs were having transexual
nights and other things that just didn’t appeal to us. Instead, we took
another trek down to Santa Monica. For those of you who don’t know,
Santa Monica is considered a part of L.A. and is west of downtown L.A.
The part we were at was right by the ocean. Really nice place. I put some video on my moblog.
Paul
I’d come there a few weeks ago to get a skateboard for filming and just
skating around. Paul and I have been practicing on it whenever we can,
and he became quite enamored with it as well and thus the decision came
for him to purchase his own. We were also in need of some foodage, so
we stopped at P.F. Chang’s for some quality Chinese food. They also had
a Buddha Mararita which I decided to imbibe, being that it was Friday
and all.
The food was all well and great, and although they didn’t quite have
the paint/graphic Paul wanted on his skateboard he did manage to find
the right type and bought it. As we walked by we saw a fortune teller.
Greg and Amando had gone to a fortune teller in Hollywood the other day
when they were waiting for me to come. (I got stuck in the wonderful
Los Angeles traffic.) I decided to go ahead and do it since it was so
incredibly cheap. Not expecting anything of value I sat down as this
lady, who is actually a part of a company that has done this since the
1800’s, started to see my past, present and future.
It was really odd for me to sit there and have her describe several
people that are close to me so incredibly accurately. She described my
mom 100% perfectly. Not only that, but she let me in on some things she
worried about me about. I later called to verify with my mom, and sure
enough they were true. So, anyway, she proceded to tell me my fortune
after wowing me with the past and present. I could go on for a long
time with this, but much of it is quite personal and I doubt some of
the other people involved would much enjoy me speaking of it. At any
rate, I was skeptical and I was impressed.
Moving on to the future she let me know that there are two women that
are interested in me at this very moment. One I’ve been friends with
for a long time, and one I’ve known for a fairly short while. I need to
be careful as some woman is going to try and use me, and fuck me over.
She just told me to be patient and everything would work out as it
should. She then looked in my eyes and told me that I shouldn’t let me
previous bad experiences stand in my way of moving forward as what
happened before will not happen again. That really made me happy… She
said I’d be in a relationship by the end of 2005, but I would not get
married until I was set in my career. I guess we shall wait and see.
Moving on to career information, she let me know I had three possible
paths and that I could be famous and successful with any one of them.
I’m assuming they are film, writing (which includes the site,) and
music. She said the important thing to do was simply to be patient and
let things unfold as they will beautifully. She also said that I have
certain people, one ‘friend’ in paticular, that is insanely jealous of
me and that I should stay away from that person as they will impede my
progress.
There was much more she said, and like I said she said some really
specific things about my family, friends, and past girlfriends. It was
really surprising. She also described me really well. One last note for
anyone worrying about me; she said I will live a long life. My first
three cards were The Devil, Death, and a knight getting stabbed with
like ten swords, but they were upside down… or something that made it
positive. I was too mesmerized by the accuracy of what she was saying
to really pay attention to the mechanics.
Also, Paul and I also partook in the viewing of The Wedding Crashers.
Honestly, I wasn’t that excited to see this movie but my roomate’s
friend wrote it so I thought it fitting to see it. Surprisingly, Paul
and I both loved it. Absolutely hilarious movie with some wonderfully
written dialogue that also took some chances with the R rating and its
use of it. Go see it, you’ll like it. The ending is a bit cheesy… but
don’t let it spoil the rest of the movie as there are some great
laughs.
We returned home and skateboarded the night away. We’re now able
operate them with a fair amount of efficiency. Only a matter of time
before we dominate the X-Games.
Finally, the other night Paul, Izzy, Amondo, and I went to La Ve Lee in
Studio City to see Danny Carey (of Tool) play some jazz. It is a really
small club, and the Tool people sat at the table next to us. Besides
being right up front to watch my favorite musician play, I also got to
talk a bit with the other Tool people and such. I was very pleased with
my visit. Besides all that the food there was wonderful as well.
Anyway, I’ll be returning to Lawrence on the tenth which is much sooner
that it might seem. This is my last week of class, and then the next
week will be fun in the sun. I absolutely love L.A. and am happy here,
but I greatly miss my friends back in Lawrence (you know who you are)
and am excited to hang with them again. If I become famous as perdicted
by the lady I will definitely always have a house in Lawrence as I love
that town as well. Besides that I gotta see my Jayhawks play basketball
and football. Speaking of which following my two schools will be
exciting this year. KU and USC both have very exciting sports programs.
I mean, hell, USC is going for its third National Championship in
football this year. Insanity.
I’m also looking forward to doing the show again. Richie get ready, we need to infiltrate the airwaves once again!
