v0.0.0.2 Beta (January 30, 2008)
-Four new World Maps: World 2, World 3, World 4, and World 9. All applicable completed levels are moved to their respective worlds
-New levels: my own Fortress of Traps (World 1 Fortress), Mystic Forest (World 2-2), Tower of Babel (World 4-2), Hammer Bro Hideout (World 1-6).
-Ability to save after finishing the Yellow Switch Palace and World 1-3.
-All new crossover power-up: Spartan Mario! Spartan Mario has a powerful Energy Blade melee attack.
-Most Collision Detection issues resolved including:
*Small Mario jumping through ceilings when vaulting off an enemy.
*Small Mario running through certain walls when hitting them with a full-speed running jump.
-Improved platform engine.
-More physics fixes.
-Decreased overall inertia (no more "ice" movement).
-Drastically reduced number of collision blocks on each area, which should speed up the game for slower computers.
-Added save points.
-All MP3 music files moved outside of the game executable, resulting in smaller filesize. MP3 music available as separate download.
-Removed the sky background intro screen since a great many people were having problems with it.
-Implemented rudimentary Warp Pipe system.
-Perfect platform handling: Mario no longer nudges to the right on an upward-moving platform.
-Mario no longer nudges to the right when in mid-air.
-Mario can now jump while crouching.
-Mario can now crouch while underwater.
-Mario's Fireballs now do not bounce as high, eliminating the problem of them bouncing over 16x16 enemies.
-Mario's Fireballs no longer bounce off Subcon enemies (Shyguys, Snifits, etc.)
-BUG FIX: If a shell Mario is holding is destroyed, Mario no longer gets stuck holding a phantom item.
-BALANCE FIX: Increased damage done to Bubble Man by all means of attack.
